SeaNest recapture solution
Introduction
Recapturing cleaner fish in the cage can be challenging. In addition, it is stressful for the fish. Lumpfish and wrasse love SeaNest, and they almost always return to it when they are not out hunting sea lice. This makes it easy to catch the fish while they are resting on the SeaNest unit.
The recapture system is a separate unit that is attached to the SeaNest. This does not affect the function of the SeaNest itself, but to keep the amount of equipment in the cage to a minimum, it is recommended to connect the recapture system only when needed.
The actual catching of the cleaner fish is done by pulling a rope from the cage edge. A specially designed net lies ready at the bottom and is pulled up within seconds, ensuring a gentle and efficient catch. Once the rope has been pulled up, all the cleaner fish present in the SeaNest are captured.
